AgriPath convened a stakeholders' engagement forum that brought together multi-sectoral players in the Digital Advisory Services (DAS) ecosystem in Burkina Faso. The main objective was to present the AgriPath project and share experiences in agricultural extension, digital agricultural advisory services (DAS), as well as gender considerations for smallholder farmers in Burkina Faso.
In a series of insightful presentations and engaging discussions, participants shared their experiences and lessons in agricultural extension and made recommendations, particularly on the advancing gender and digitalization into the AgriPath implementation areas, integrating with existing services and practical mechanisms to drive the adoption of sustainable land management practices.
The AgriPath stakeholders' engagement workshop, which was opened by the High Commissioner of Passoré Province Mr. SANGARE Daouda, brought together 34 participants including government representatives (Ministry of Agriculture,Provincial Director of Agriculture Animal and Fisheries Resources, Regional Directorate of Agriculture, Animal Resources and Fisheries of the North); non-governmental organizations (SEMUS, Groupement NAAM, United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification); Global SLM body WOCAT; Research Centres (International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology, ICIPE, Centre for Development and Environment, CDE) agricultural cooperative representatives, media (Radio Red, Radio Natigm-b-zanga), extension agents, and farmers.
